Torbreck The Laird Shiraz 2015
Planted in 1958 by the legendary Malcolm Seppelt, this five acres of Shiraz is embedded in very dark, heavy clay loam over red friable clay. Over five decades, the vineyard has been meticulously hand-tended, unirrigated, traditionally-farmed and pruned delivering small and concentrated Shiraz berries.
2015 shows all the opulence and elegance of previous Laird’s, but with a complexity, precision and prominence that will make sure it ages gracefully for the next 20 years or more. Spices and meat with a savoury edge fill the bouquet held together with a tight tannin profile and generous oak.
