About Imported Sparkling & Prosecco

The sparkling dry Italian wine, Prosecco is crafted from the Glera grape in the regions of the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia in Italy - most traditionally in the hills north of Treviso. Usually produced using the Charmat method in which the secondary fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, the resulting wine can either be the fully sparkling (spumante) or lightly sparkling (frizzante) in style and sometimes includes a blend of Pinot Bianco or Pinot Grigio.
