Shinjiro Torii founded Torii Shoten, in 1899, pioneering the creation of western-style liquor to suit Japanese tastes, finally launching the first Suntory Whisky in 1937. On the shores of the beautiful Chita peninsula, Chita Distillery creates three types of grain whisky; clean, medium, and heavy, ageing them in a variety of casks before blending to create The Chita Single Grain Whisky. Sublimely smooth, versatile, and complex with subtle sweetness, the Japanese way to savour it is on one big ice cube, or 1:1 with water over ice, or in a highball, although once you've sipped it, you can decide for yourself if you'd prefer to mix it in your favourite cocktails, no questions asked.
