Leeuwin Estate Prelude Chardonnay 2018
An abundance of white nectarines, lime curd, Nashi pears and peaches on the nose are heightened with notes of jasmine, lemon blossom and camomile. The palate begins with grapefruit, lemon wedges and pear leading to a delicately textured, layered and woven palate with a creamy, baked apple and brioche feature with diligent oak and subtle texture.
White nectarines, lime curd, nashi pears and baby peaches feature, in this bright concentration of purity and clarity with a focussed definition. The layered and contoured mid-palate is finely checked with mineral acid thread.

Vintage 2016 - Death, taxes and the quality of Leeuwin Estate chardonnay. This may 'only' be the Prelude version but its quality is as clear as a bright blue sky. Pure stone fruit, sweet oak, pear and a cleansing flush of citrus through the finish. It builds, it satisfies and it refreshes. Elegance and power in one.
