Henschke Mount Edelstone Shiraz 2013 Gift Boxed
Succulent blue fruits, blackcurrant paste, blackberry and spiced plum aromas are interwoven with savoury Dutch liquorice, sage, cracked black pepper and cedar. The palate has lovely concentration, with layers of sweet plum, blackberry and liquorice, finishing fleshy and well-structured, with rolling chalky tannins.
First bottled as a single-vineyard wine in 1952, Mount Edelstone Shiraz is renowned as one of the greatest Shiraz wines in Australia. Writing for Jancis Robinson, Richard Hemming MW says it is “...sheer class, with cellaring potential that is only just beginning.”

Vintage 2013 - Vivid, deep purple-crimson; this is a blue-blood aristocratic shiraz, certain in its supreme power, length and balance, and not going out to prove anything. If anyone doubts its quality now, the scales will fall from their eyes over the decades ahead, as it will be recognised by all and sundry as one of the greatest Mount Edelstones.
