Coldstream Hills Chardonnay 2018
Sourced from hillside sloping vineyards in the Upper and Lower Yarra Valley, the winemaker’s blending of parcels from both regions produces a Chardonnay of complexity, varietal definition and length.
The vibrant and fresh bouquet reveals citrus, nougat and lemon barley along with white flower nuances underpinned by mineral slate and subtle French oak. The palate is at once elegant and pure with lemons and limes and white peaches. The seamless French oak is in harmony with the juicy acidity from the cooler 2017 vintage.

Vintage 2017 - First impression is that the warm season has produced an immediately appealing, fruit-filled wine. Grapefruit and pear notes lead to wood spice and a mealy savouriness. In short, this is the archetypal 'something for everyone' wine.

Vintage 2016 - Sourced across hillside plots in both the Upper and Lower Yarra Valley, this is a judicious meld of tension and impeccably ripe melon and stone fruit flavours, nudged with cashew. The wine leaves an indelible impression of coolness; of place; so sensitive, inconspicuous and well judged the handling of oak and mineral thread. There is nothing forceful about this. Rather, it is an exercise in restraint and yet, of flavour line and lingering length. A lovely drink.
