The clue is in the name here, exceptionelle. This is a little beauty. Smooth, rich, autolytic notes on the nose offering up mushrooms, truffle, pistachio and honey drizzled danish pastries all comfortably align with the crushed oyster shells, ripe lemon zest and that’s just the beginning. The palate is plump but the acidity remains taut and fresh. Ripe apricots join the cacophony of delights presented on the nose with subtle vanilla and a hint of candied hazelnuts and baked apples. Sublime and a real delight that will age for years to come.
