Vintage 2017 - An elegant, cool, spice-laden Clonakilla that I adore! Beautifully floral, swimming in violets, exotic spice sarsaparilla, tiny dark berries and white and green pepper. Taut and edgy with beautifully honed, fine-ground, granitic tannins. Sensational reflection of a cooler season.

Vintage 2017 - A return to a more elegant cool-climate style after the monolithic 2009 vintage, this is a complex wine already. There's fragrant viognier (5%) perfume and spice lift, dark chocolate, fine white pepper, blackberry and blood plum. The palate is stretched out on fine, lithe tannins and has attractive ripe summer berry and plum flavours cloaked in pepper and spice complexity. You get both flesh and bones here.
