THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 6.30 - 7.15PM

Join award-winning chef and owner of Melbourne’s Attica restaurant, Ben Shewry; Church Road Wines’ Chief Winemaker, Chris Scott; and Good Food’s National Food & Drink Writer, Callan Boys, for a very special virtual cooking class and wine tasting to celebrate the latest release of Church Road TOM.

For this Good Food event, Ben will cook a bespoke recipe – Sirloin Steak, Salsa Verde Butter and Kale Mashed Potatoes – inspired by and designed to pair with the newly released Church Road TOM Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2016. Like TOM, Ben’s recipe has been created with special occasions in mind, as we all look forward to getting together with friends and family over the holidays.

The TOM wines are the pinnacle of the Church Road range, with consistently sold-out vintages in the winery’s country of origin, New Zealand. The latest vintages of Church Road TOM Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon and TOM Chardonnay have now also been made available in Australia in limited numbers, and Good Food subscribers will be lucky enough to experience a tasting of the wines with the winemaker himself.

The recipe will be provided once you have registered, so if you’d like to cook along with Ben you can get the ingredients and do a little preparation beforehand. You will also have the opportunity to ask Ben and Chris any questions during the evening.  The TOM Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 and TOM Chardonnay 2019 can be pre-ordered and delivered to your door.

Register now to participate in a celebration of good food and the latest vintages of Church Road TOM, and the chance to cook alongside one of the world’s best chefs.

For this event, we’ve pulled together two exclusive packs with each of the latest release TOM wines, the TOM Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 and TOM Chardonnay 2019. Available exclusively via in extremely limited quantities, Chris will talk through both of these wines in detail while Ben cooks the bespoke recipe for the event. If you’re wanting to save opening TOM for that special occasion, we invite you to instead enjoy the mutli-award winning Grand Reserve Range for the evening which Chris will also to during this event.

To order the Church Road tasting pack for this event, please ensure orders are placed here by November 19 (due to courier delays there is no guarantee delivery for Perth, Tasmania & regional Victoria - please call the team to arrange express delivery!)

There's that famous old French saying in Burgundy, about the good warm vintages, that you would have to be dead not to make good wine. And in the easy years, that's what happens - everyone makes good wine and everyone's picking around the same time. But it's the difficult years – and in the Valley here, we still get three or four difficult years in every ten – they're the years where you make the statement on your skills and your expertise.
