Roda are perhaps Rioja's greatest, most accessible current premium expression. Excellent value deluxe wines from old vines north of the village of Haro, in cold limestone soils under the Sierra Cantabria. 'Roda' and 'Roda 1' are selections of Tempranillo in its two main forms. Roda is (earthy mediterranean) Red note Tempranillo. Roda 1, is fissile, Atlantic blue note Tempranillo. 2015 is a crackerjack all-time great Roda vintage and the wines will last extremely well.
Tasting notes

Blue-black and sooo beautiful to smell: blueberry skins, road metal minerals, pretty violets and a lash of mineral. The palate features astonishing tannin maturity, great spiciness with fine spicy oak tucked way in at the back, while the fruit runs in the plum and cola range, with black pepper and nutmeg. It’s power with enormous finesse. Great oral perfume driven by wonderfully mature tannin.
