NSW Tourism minister Matt Brown launched the Shoalhaven Coast Wine Festival last week at Silos Estate in Jaspers Brush.

Mr Brown thanked the festival-organising committee, Shoalhaven Coast Wine Industry Association and member wineries and vineyards for making the annual event possible.

He said it boosted visitor numbers on the June long weekend every year and provided a great synergy with Shoalhaven's developing specialised food industry.

The festival features wine made along the coast between Kiama to Batemans Bay.

The quality of the wine produced in the region was highlighted when six gold, 14 silver and 31 bronze medals were presented to Shoalhaven Coast wineries at the South Coast Wine Show in January.

The festival, promoted in Sydney as the Winter Wine Weekend, will run from June 7 to 9.
