MORE than 15,000 people are expected at the 2008 Food and Wine Festival at Warners Bay today.
The best drops from a dozen Hunter Valley wineries, including Peterson Champagne House, Tempus Two and Brokenwood, will be on offer to try and buy.A range of locally grown and produced food such as olives, seafood, cheese, chilli and fudge will be available to taste.Warners Bay Chamber of Commerce town co-ordinator Jenny Barrie said last year's inaugural festival attracted about 10,000 people."It's a great atmosphere by the lake and after such a wet week people will be keen to get out of the house," she said."Rarely do we see these kinds of food and wine festivals held in Lake Macquarie and it's great to put something on for the adults as well as the kids."Entry is free and families are welcome to bring along picnic chairs to sit by the lake. There will be children's entertainment and music.
