HOW DOES WINE GET ITS COLOUR?

Green and black grapes are used in the winemaking process and each have the same colour inside.

Wine gets its colour is by letting the skins soak in the juice during fermentation. You can actually make white wine, like champagne, from black grapes (pinot noir) by not letting the skins stay in contact with the juice.

WHAT IS TANNIN?

Tannin causes a firm, mouth-drying feeling in your mouth when you drink wine. It is extracted from grape skins, seeds and stems. Red wine traditionally has much more tannin than white wine.
