I went to a tasting at a friend's house last weekend - Tom was very informative and the selection was great. Traditionally a white drinker, and fairly uneducated in the wine world, but after tasting a couple of reds, a fortified and even a sherry (which I had never tasted before) I ended up ordering only one bottle of white (but a very nice one) and the rest were 'non-whites'! So my wine world has been expanded and I even enjoyed Tom's food/wine tips and suggestions. They were really beautiful wines and I recommend a tasting to anyone. I am waiting to have one myself so my friends can enjoy this experience too. Enjoy!
